We are honored that you would consider taking the step of membership here at Anchor Church. You can expect that by the time you have completed this form, you will have a good idea if you meet the requirements for becoming a member. If you are new to the idea of membership, or you would simply like to know more about our position on membership, we want to take a brief moment and explain the position.
As members of Anchor Church, you are committing to help set the tone and culture of this community. It comes with some specific responsibilities, which you will read more about in a moment, but it also comes with additional leadership. We, as the leadership team, will look to you in continuing to help build a welcoming, Christ honoring community at Anchor.
We have copied an excerpt from our Bylaws regarding membership to provide some further details on the responsibilities members hold:
ARTICLE SEVEN Members
Section 1. Definition
Members shall be all people who have placed their faith in Jesus, served (through serving in any area of ministry or through giving financially) at Anchor Church at least once in the last six months, and agree to Anchor Church’s Statement of Faith.
Should six months pass without a record of service or a member no longer agrees with the Statement of Faith, membership is automatically terminated. In the event that an individual wishes to no longer be a member at Anchor Church, they may voluntarily step down from their position and inform Anchor Church leadership of this decision.
In addition, all Members of Anchor Church agree to living a life in line with the teaching and message of the Scriptures and, in short, agree to live a life worthy of the gospel of Christ (Philippians 1:27). Any member of Anchor Church found to be living a life of habitual sin, unrepentant, and hardened in heart shall be considered for dismissal from membership and subject to Anchor Church’s Member Disciplinary policy. The process of member discipline within Anchor Church is explained more fully in Anchor Church’s Member Discipline policy. Said resource provides additional explanation but shall not be incorporated into these Bylaws by reference, nor shall it replace the text above. In the event of any disagreement of the linked document with these Bylaws, the Bylaws shall prevail.

Membership is granted and recognized with the power to vote to affirm nominations for the roles of Lead Pastor and Elders, and approve loans, real property leases, and purchases.

The requirements for membership at Anchor Church are as follows:
- Are a believer in Jesus Christ
- Have served (by either giving financially or serving) within the last 6 months
- Willingly place themselves under the authority of the Member Disciplinary Policy (a copy of which you will find below)
- Agree to the Statement of Faith and Written Doctrine of Marriage and Sexuality
- Have completed Steps 1-4 of the Anchored Path
